Introduce us to your band!

Hey guys – thank you for inviting us! We are a Boston-based rock band called Major Moment. Combining heavy-hitting drums and guitar riffs, soaring melodies and heartfelt lyrics, we’re turning everything into a cinematic blend, while on a mission to inspire others to pursue their dreams and live a life of purpose.

How did you guys start out?

With a dream, as cheesy as it sounds. Following our passion, we moved half-across the world, leaving our families and friends, giving up on career prospects. We built our future here from scratch, but it ended up being too easy for us – haha. “We wanted to create something we couldn’t even dream of. That’s when Major Moment was born.

Describe your band’s sound

It’s a blend of hard rock, alternative rock and alternative metal, with some modern electronic elements. We put Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon, Nine Inch Nails and Starset in the same room – meet Major Moment.

What influences your craft?

It could be anything really, from the music we listen to, the news that we caught last night, the book we read last year, the song idea we had written 15 years ago. The outer world we live in, and the inner world that exists within us.

What makes your project different?

Oh boy, where do we even begin? An American rock band that’s led by a married couple of vocalists/songwriters, who were born in Russia and lived there for 20+ years, yet manage to write and sing songs in a foreign language that receive international awards. One is a former pro tennis player ranking in top 600 in the world, the other started and developed several businesses in the past and also went through 4 years of law school just to give it ALL up and pursue a career in music. I mean… sounds VERY different already, if you ask us.

When introducing people to your music, what song should I show them first? What is your quintessential track?

It depends on what kind of a person they are. Different people tend to fall in love with different songs of ours, but we think there’s a high chance of our new single The Flood being the song all of you will fall in love with.

Listen to The Flood here.

What has been the biggest struggle in your career so far?

Doing it all ourselves is tough. A lot of independent musicians can relate to this problem, unfortunately. Having a couple more like-minded people in our team would be like a breath of fresh air. We hope to find them at some point though.

The Flood was inspired by one of those struggles, a dramatic event that had all the chances to end the band. However, we pulled through and walked away as a much better and stronger team. We believe this is our best song to date, and we cannot wait for you to hear it!

What has been the biggest highlight in your career so far?

Winning the “John Lennon Songwriting Award”, perhaps. We’ve also been invited to be a part of a major rock festival this year, but unfortunately we cannot announce it quite yet due to contractual obligations. That might be the runner up.

How bright is the future of your band – what are the plans?

Good question. It’s only as bright as we make it. We have a new single that came out on July 10th, have a couple surprises ready, b-sides/bonuses, lyric & music videos, and 3 more singles we’re going to release a few months apart. It’s kind of hard to make long-term plans when things like this pandemic havoc the world, so we do what we do best – play by ear.

When all is said and done, how would you like to be remembered?

As a band who just kept going against all odds.
