This week saw the launch of ‘THE UNTOUR’ – a celebration of grassroots bands across the UK, the locals venues that host them and us, the listener.

Originally touted as “Slaves’ Favourite Band”, Lady Bird have well and truly grown into their own, stepping proudly into British punk boots and striding through with belter after belter. With only one EP and a few singles to their name, it’s evident that Lady Bird’s potential is unlimited; even going so far as selling out the Tunbridge Wells Forum, the staple venue wherein the band cut their teeth and the fitting final stop on their Untour.

Their post-political-punk and meta-commentary lyrics surrounding youth in the UK are paired with some of the best riffs to come out of the scene in a long while.

Lady Bird found recent success after appearing on the Reading & Leeds ‘BBC Introducing’ stage in 2018, with the live video of Boot Fillers receiving nearly eight times as many views as some of the other ‘Introducing’ videos.

Signing to Girlfight Records (Slaves’ own indie label) shortly before the Reading & Leeds festival, Lady Bird are poised to release even more killer music during 2020; hopefully, at the culmination of the Untour. We know that they’ve been in the studio recently and hope that their time in the booth hasn’t been limited to the re-release of anti-boomer anthem Shag-Tally-Tastic.

You can still grab tickets to the Untour here; we couldn’t recommend it more.
