Introduce us to your band!

Sweet: I’m a bass playing Banana.

N’: My name is NefertitiPharoahSandraMundusIfilOpolis and I’m a pineapple that plays the drums!

Juicy: I am a strawberry that plays keyboard.

Sweet N’ Juicy: We like to party.

How did you guys start out?

Sweet: I hit the road as a green banana in search of new flavors and found Juicy in a strawberry patch playing piano. I thought he was pretty cool, so I scooped him up and took him out adventuring with me. After a few twists and turns on the road, we ran into N’ on a pineapple plantation. We jammed a bit and instantly knew we had to take him with us and haven’t looked back.

Describe your band’s sound

Juicy: We definitely sound like Portland, our hometown. Playfully distorted-keyboard leads, heavy powder-fueled bass lines, and the defender of the truth – The Beat – in the drums. We call the sound Songwriter Funk, but it’s basically a vibe of funky-fruity-party rock that makes you want to dance and perform debaucheries.

What influences your craft?

N’: Sex and parties. That’s it!

What makes your project different?

Juicy: Well… Sweet’s a banana.

Sweet: Juicy’s a strawberry.

N’: I’m a pineapple!

Sweet: Our sound also makes us a bit different… we definitely stick to the party!

When introducing people to your music, what song should I show them first? What is your quintessential track?

N: The answer to both is Inconceivable. It says everything we believe in. Parties, friends, a good time, and sexual relations to a good beat.

What has been the biggest struggle in your career so far? What has been the biggest highlight in your career so far?

Juicy: Honestly? Finding a good party takes a lot of research. Sweet and I spend hours a day looking for the rowdiest, most drug-induced crowd we can find. One time we found this party at a place called “Bear Creek” in Scio, OR. It was after a three-week tour down to San Diego and back. We were feeling the need to release some good party vibes, and the crowd lapped it up- much akin to a bear at a creek. That was a rager.

How bright is the future of your band – what are the plans?

N’: Our future’s about as bright as the sun shining on the Pineapple-Plantation!

Sweet: We have a tour planned next year in February from Seattle to San Diego, and a bunch of weekend dates that are coming together. Some fun videos are going to be released of us having fun as well as more music videos. Maybe we’ll even release a single in the Summer. 2020 is looking really cool.

When all is said and done, how would you like to be remembered?

N’: As the most party-filled fruit you’ve ever hung out with!
