1. Introduce us to your project!

Sure! We are Threatpoint, a metal band from Scranton, Pennsylvania in the United States. The band consists of CJ Krukowski (drums), Chris James (vocals), Sam Young (bass), Greg Baczmarga (guitar) and myself Alex Olivetti (guitar).

  1. How did you start out?

We had all played in bands and knew each other from playing shows. Sam, CJ and I were in a band that played with Chris’ old band, so had known each other for a few years. We formed Threatpoint initially after our respective bands had broken up back in early 2012. We had known Greg from playing out as well, he had previously played in Beyond Fallen whom we shared the stage with numerous times, he just joined Threatpoint late last year.

  1. Describe your band’s sound.

Heavy and aggressive. We try to cover a lot of bases when we write. Our songs have groove, thrash and even more traditional hard rock elements. We’re still expanding our sound; our new album Salvation contains more clean vocals and clean musical pieces than we’ve had in the past.

  1. What influences your craft?

A wide range of bands/musicians have influenced and inspired us throughout the years. Also, just different life experiences and going through life in general, both the bad and good times.

  1. What makes your band different? Why should people listen to you?

We’re not reinventing the wheel by any means, we just have some fun high energy tunes that people can get into and bang their head to. Our lyrics are more positive and spiritual compared to a lot of our counterparts. Uplifting lyrics over heavy music can be really impactful.

  1. When introducing people to your music, what song should I show them first? What is your quintessential track?

That’s a tough one! There’s a bunch of songs that I’d love for people to hear, but if I had to pick one, I would pick Iron Sharpens Iron from our new album. It has some different feels, it has fast parts, heavy groovy parts, gang vocals and clean vocal/music pieces and it’s a blast to play live!

  1. What has been the biggest struggle in your career so far?

Finding the right people to help take us to that next level. We recently signed on with Voodoo Queen Management. They’ve been a great help in pushing the name and booking us into new venues/territories.

  1. What has been the biggest highlight in your career so far?

We’ve played many great shows and met many great people. Just being able to share our music with people from all over and share the stage with other like-minded bands is a blessing.

  1. How bright is the future of your band – what are the plans?

We recently signed to Voodoo Queen Management, I think we will have some great opportunities on the horizon. We will also be playing Canada for the first time! Our new album Salvation will be available on February 22, so we’ll be pushing the new songs for sure.

  1. When all is said and done, how would you like to be remembered?

I’d like to know that we wrote some great music and a high energy live show that connects with people. At the end of the day it’s about the connection with the listener; we feed off of each other’s energy.
