An application of incredible song-writing; Pinegrove have become masters of their craft.
The New Jersey sextet unveiled their latest single just over two days ago, and it was all I heard about for the next few days. Everyone was praising and sharing the song, so there’s not much more to add to the abundance of reviews released over the past few days. I’ll try though – this band deserves as much praise as they can possibly receive.
Intrepid is the very definition of itself- bold, fearless and loud – all of which are synonymous with Pinegrove. As a band, they’ve been at the forefront of my attention for a while now, only furthered so by Aaron’s 5 Byte review of them at Scala back in February, (which you can find here; https://wavebyte.co.uk/2017/03/06/pinegrove-scala-22-02-17/).
Following the overwhelmingly positive reception of Cardinal, the stage is set for the band to either push on to further greatness or fall into the limbo of mediocrity that plagues many alternative bands today. However, I remain resolute that Pinegrove are on the rise and I dare say that Skylight will be filled with some utterly remarkable music. This is trademark Pinegrove at its best.
In an interview, Evan announced that Skylight should be set for release in March 2018. In the meantime, I’m excited to see what other singles the band can produce. In short, I love this. Give me more.
